A selection of the most frequently asked questions:

Can I get a concession ticket?

Concessionary tickets are available on most events – the categories who qualify are children, retired and over 60, full time students and customers who are registered disabled.

Do you accept Theatre Tokens?

Unfortunately, we do not accept Theatre Tokens, however we do offer in-house gift vouchers.  Please contact our Box Office on 01229 820000, option 1 to either purchase a gift voucher, or receive help redeeming one. Please note, gift vouchers expire 12 months after the date purchased.

Can we take alcoholic/hot drinks into the event spaces?

For most events, alcoholic and soft drinks are permitted into our event spaces. For certain events, glassware may not be permitted, but we will offer a suitable alternative. 

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes, we sell in-house gift vouchers to a value of your choice.  They are redeemable against all events at Barrow Town Hall and expire 12 months from the date purchased.

Why do we pay a booking fee?

The Council introduced a £1 booking fee on every ticket purchased in April 2018.  This was to help reduce the subsidy the Council invest in our venues and sustain our future. Please note, online bookings are also subject to a £1.25 fee per order. 

Is there access for wheelchair users?

We have a number of spaces accessible for wheelchair users. You can access these online by changing your preferences in your account. If you would prefer to book in person or over the phone for wheelchair spaces, you are welcome to contact us on 01229 820000, option 1 to allocate a space.

Can I take a child’s push chair into the theatre?

Unfortunately, we do not permit push chairs into our event spaces, and we do not have a designated push chair park in Barrow Town Hall. However, you are welcome to leave your push chairs either in the Queen’s Hall, or in Central Reception while you are enjoying one of our performances.  Please note, owners leave their belongings at their own risk.

Can children attend events alone?

All children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
